Description
The Centre for Rare Lung Diseases is located in the Department of Pneumology and Respiratory Medicine of the Thorax Clinic of Heidelberg University Hospital. Every year, around 19,000 cases of lung diseases are treated at the Thoraxklinik Heidelberg, both as outpatients and as partial and full inpatients, of which approx. 20% are rare lung diseases. Patients under the age of 18 are cared for at the Centre for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
As a partner in the German Centre for Lung Research (DZL), the Thorax Hospital is integrated into the inter-site collaboration in the field of basic sciences and clinical research. The Thorax Foundation Heidelberg, founded in 2015, specifically supports projects in science, research and patient care and prevention, especially in relation to diseases of the thoracic organs.

If you are a patient or relative interested in a diagnosis, therapy or second opinion at the clinic, please contact the outpatient clinic or ask your doctor.
